Oh my gosh, that was heartbreaking to read. I volunteered last year at an animal expo @ a shelter & there were SO many dogs. Fortunately, at this place, they didn't euthanize dogs. But what kind of life is living in a cage? Reading that tore my heart up.

jane, it's wonderful to hear you volunteered your time to such a worthy cause! My sister adopted a 'katrina' cat recently. Surely in todays world there's enough love to go around, wouldn't you agree?

Yes, I agree. By far too many. We've got a pot bellied pig & there are also many of them that are homeless. In the county I live in alone it's estimated there are 300 homeless pot bellied pigs. Sadly, many of them end up on the dinner table. That just breaks my heart.
I hope people spay/neuter their pets as they should. How wonderful that your sister got a katrina cat.
